This is going to be the first post of a few, reviewing dishes that from Zakkushi Char-Grill Diner, a Japanese barbeque restaurant aiming to introduce Vancouverites to the concept of charcoal grilled foods.

First up is the Yakkitori Don SP: chicken teriyaki on rice with a half-boiled egg and mayonnaise on top. A healthy dose of seaweed was also involved. The way to go about eating this dish is to puncture the egg so that the yoke can mix in with all of the other toppings on the rice. It was good, but not excellent. The dish rice was lacking in flavor and could have used more teriyaki sauce, or even salt.
